My Journey: From Paperboy to Digital Marketing

My story started small, built on hard work and a drive to grow. At 11, I became a paperboy, delivering newspapers until high school. Those early years taught me dedication. A lesson I'd carry forward into part-time jobs at KFC and a local movie theater—fun roles that got me curious about the working world.

After high school, I wasn't sure what came next. I joined Footlocker as a Management Trainee and later became a store manager at Athletic Express Shoes. In 1995, with my wife expecting our first child, I needed stability and joined Nestlé's Ice Cream company. But the entrepreneurial spark wouldn't quit. I opened VIP Tanning, my first business, and fell in love with building something of my own.

The Yellow Pages Years

A chance connection through a client led me to Elizabeth and soon after, Matt Lopez, an area sales manager at Valley Yellow Pages. There were no openings. I showed up daily for two weeks until Matt hired me in 1999, joking it was to “get me off his back.” That persistence worked. After a tough first year learning advertising, I hit my stride, ranking #1 in sales among 35 colleagues the next year, earning awards, bonuses, and unforgettable experiences.

I eventually took on a management role, but my heart stayed with sales and entrepreneurship. This led me to AT&T Yellow Pages, where I deepened my digital marketing expertise. Yet something felt missing.

The Digital Marketing Transition

In 2013, while holding my newborn grandson in the delivery room, I got a call from Matt Lopez. He offered a role at ReachLocal, Google’s largest digital vendor at the time. Tired of living in hotels half the year with AT&T, I took the leap. Less than a year later, ReachLocal sold, and I faced another crossroads. In 2014, I started my own digital marketing company—and haven’t looked back.

Finding Our Niche with Legal Marketing

Our company grew when we were approached to find plaintiffs for a lawsuit involving meal and break violations. That success opened doors to working with attorneys. Today, we proudly manage marketing for hundreds of law firms. We’ve found our strength in focusing on what we do best: PPC (Google, Yahoo, Bing), Facebook, LinkedIn, and Display Ads. By focusing on our core strengths, we help our clients succeed, which fuels our own growth.

I’m grateful for every step of this journey and excited to continue sharing our story as it unfolds. Thank you for being here and learning about us.
